It was OK but it wasn't great. I really don't mind stories with princesses and princes but there are too many of them and if you want to write a good book and stand out, you have to do something different however, I found The Kiss of Deception very centered on the love triangle and lacked everything else that could've made the book amazing: action, surprises and deceits... Pearson's writing was very powerful at times, I FELT Lia's distress and the anguish, I FELT Rafe's growing love for the princess and I felt a strange nothingness towards the assassin (yeah that character was not very well developed) . I think that Lia was very brave yet somewhat selfish to have run away from a marriage that she didn't like. Now she kind of brought war upon all the kingdoms which shows that she clearly doesn't think things through. In general, I would say that The Kiss of Deception was a pretty cute lovey-dovey story... that doesn't have anything special to it except for maybe a beautiful cover.
