Quick summary:
Beatrice/B works in a library
Dr. Giovanni Vecchio is looking for some long lost letter with great sentimental value from his past and spends a lot of time in the library.
Beatrice falls in love with Dr. Giovanni Vecchio and he reveals to her that he's a vampire.
Vecchio's "son" is an evil vamp and he wants to see his father suffer by trading the old letters in exchange for Beatrice.
Vecchio accepts the offer but concocts a plan to save her.The plan goes well.
They live happily ever after.
Seriously, a shirtless guy on the cover? I don't even recall any of the characters walking around shirtless. Anyhow...
Beatrice/B is a very smart and mature person while Giovanni is very hot and brilliant and happens to be a nice vampire. It seemed to me like the characters were just way too perfect and that kind of bothers me. I thought A Hidden Fire was just very bland and frankly quite boring. I presume that Hunter was writing this book as a foundation for a sequel therefore the action was concentrated in the last 15% while the rest of the book was pretty much information and character development. I probably won't read the sequel because this one let me down.
