The book starts off where Crown of Midnight ended. Celaena is given the task to kill the royal family in Wendlyn; but while still mourning the death of Nehemia, Celaena can't find the strength to kill anymore innocent people. Wandering off in the streets to explore, she get's acquainted to Rowan, a Fae warrior that has been summoned by Maeve to train her. Meanwhile in Adarlan, tension is growing between the slaves and the King but the King is willing to kill everyone and I really mean EVERYONE (including his son), to keep his head on his shoulders and his seat on the throne of glass.
The only thing I didn't like about this book was Manon. She was so random and out of place. Her POV was super awkward and quite bland. Honestly, I skipped all her parts. But the rest was just so freakin' amazing. Seriously Sarah J. Mass, I don't even know who to ship anymore because I love Rowan, Chaol, Dorian AND Aedion. I really wish that the book was longer though. Just when things were getting super interesting, it had to end. I'm definitely going to be reading the sequels.
