Did I like it? Yes. Did I love it? No.
Avry of Kazan can assume the wounds and diseases of the sick and injured into herself. But rather than being honored for her skill, she is accused of spreading the plague that killed millions.
Right when Avry thinks that she doesn't want to live anymore, she is saved from execution by a band of rogues who, shockingly, value her gift above anything else. In exchange, Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince, the leader of the campaign against her people.
As they traverse the Nine Mountains (lol typical fantasy world time!), Avry must decide who is worth healing and worth dying for.
I have to say that I liked Poison Study a lot more than this one. During the first half of the book, all that Avry and her friends do is walk through the forest and the mountains. I shit you not. Half a god damned book of walking, games of hide and seek, juggling and knife throwing. I don't fucking get it. People are trying to kill you and you play fucking hide and seek. That definitely shows where your priorities lay.
The other half was very good though.I just kept wondering why does Avry like Kerrick and not Belen. Belen is nice, kind and super sweet while Kerrick is an ass.I mean come on. Kerrick SLAPPED her and MENACLED her to a tree. Avry darling, you have issues. Putting that aside, I really liked Tohon. He's just the best evil character that I've ever read about. He's very smart and sexy yet a total psycho. Avry's character seems rather pale in comparison. Hehee you know that a book is weird when you like the bad guys more than the good ones.
Hmm. Camly, maybe you're the one having issues.
