I liked it because of the way that the author created a truly different a world from any other that I've ever read. What she did is that there are two types of witches in the world: the black ones and the white ones with the Black being bad and White, good. But in reality, when you read the book, you realize that the white aren't so nice and the black ones are not so bad either. Everything isn't black or white in the world. It's grey and I think that the author tried to teach us that with this book. I also liked the book very much because of the torture and the details of how it felt. It made me understand the emotion that the MC experienced. It felt very raw and real.
What I didn't like was the fact that these people are supposed to be witches but don't seem to have any real power(like no magic and cool shits ya know?) If the author didn't mention that they were witches, I'd think they would be just normal humans. What also bothered me a little was the fact that not a lot of events happened within the book. The plot was too focused on the "training" that nothing was really going on. The ending was rushed and quite easy to guess.
All that to say that the book is different but don't expect something like : OMG ITS FCKIN AMAZING 'cause it's not.
