Marguerite's parents are exceptional scientists that have created a device called the Firebird. With this device, you can travel to other dimensions where different situations could've happened in your life if you've made different decisions. But when Marguerite's father, Henri, is murdered and his associate, Paul suddenly disappears with the Firebird, Marguerite and her friend Theo go on a wild chase through different dimensions in order to kill Paul.
Only good parts about this book are: the cover & Russian Lieutenant Paul Markov.
Other than that, there's nothing and I really mean NOTHING really good about this book.Because let's be honest here, travelling in different dimensions is definitely not a new thing and I think that the author could've added so much more to the book.Every time a problem occurred, it was like " Oh let's just get in another dimension and run away from it." and that, for me, is just not cool. Fight, girl, you gotta fight! Like literally, this book is just about a bunch of chases. And the plot with the "twists"? Quite predictable.
Also character wise, Theo was a bore to read, Marguerite was trying a little too hard and normal Paul was just so distant from the reader. I understand that the author wanted us to feel like Paul was an awkward potato, but I didn't even want to give a flying fck about him, he was just too bland.
Ugh.
Read at your own risk.
