The day Allie's brother Christopher disappeared, her world fell apart. Her parents seemed to be growing more and more distant and Allie went into a deep depression. She got arrested three times in a year and dyed her hair red just to annoy her parents. This time her parents have had enough. They cut her off from her friends and send her away to Cimmeria Academy, a boarding school for kids from rich families or for those whose parents have intricate connections in the government but her parents are neither and students are growing suspicious of Allie. As she settles in her new environment, the school begins to seem like a very dangerous place and many are willing to see her expelled.
Of course, the first thing that I do when I go to a new school is to check out the boys right? And then when I spot the most disgustingly rich and chivalrous one that has the reputation of a player, I try to make him fall for me so the other mysterious a-hole that I actually like gets jealous right? And then, the chivalrous-and-rich guy tries to rape me and the mysterious dude comes to the rescue since he's my knight in shining armour but I still forgive the rapist because I'm nice. Seriously. What?
I still don't fully get what is the plot of the book. There was never truly a big problem that needed solving or anything dramatic. It was always gossip, jealous girls and OMG I'm weak please save me. I'm a damsel in distress don't you see? I've had a hard life.
I'm giving one star for the setting (it was somewhat well described) and the half star for Carter because I actually ended up liking him.

I'm being very generous here.
